How to Get Peace of Mind, Reduce Risk, and Lower Costs in Your Cyber Resilience Roadmap

How do you take an hour’s worth of viewpoints from a panel of leading experts and condense it into a 5-minute read designed to help you prepare for 2024? The panel: Nathan McAfee, Senior Economic Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG); Jaimie Fox, Azure Strategist at Microsoft; Vidya Shankaran, Field CTO at Commvault. 

Their goal: Leverage the findings of the recent ESG Study on Commvault Cloud to create actionable intelligence you can use to improve your security posture. 

Customer viewpoint #1: “We had no idea the risk we were incurring.”

The sooner you evaluate the risk created by having multiple cyber resilience solutions deployed to protect your data, the sooner you can reduce your potential data loss. Before making the move to Commvault Cloud, the study uncovered that most companies had more than 15 solutions deployed for data protection. These solutions were all replaced by Commvault Cloud, reducing unrecoverable data to less than 1%, with Nathan sharing that all interviewed customers reported zero instances of unrecoverable data, while also reducing their storage footprint by 31%.

Customer viewpoint #2: “Proof of recoverability + reporting = lower cyber insurance costs”

The ability to provide proof points of recoverability and audited reporting can lead to lower cyber insurance costs. Nathan shared that interviewed customers who deployed Commvault Cloud lowered their cyber insurance costs, offsetting the investment in Commvault Cloud. This is a result of having validated proof of recoverability and comprehensive, auditable reporting that satisfies auditors, boards of directors, and CISOs.

Customer viewpoint #3: “Commvault Cloud Security Scorecard is the best defense.”

Perhaps the most impactful story Nathan shared focused on the value customers gain from Commvault Cloud’s Security Scorecard, highlighting one customer’s comments: “We could hire 40 security experts to try and hack our systems and it still wouldn’t be as effective as what Commvault Cloud’s Security Scorecard does, continually monitoring and letting us know what more we can do to harden our security posture even more.”
